365 Day Picture Project

Over the past few weeks, I’ve developed a great appreciation for art in it’s various forms. I have always loved the graffiti letters side, but I’m starting to absolutely love hand painted advertisements, type faces, characters, realistic portraits and photography. I am starting to look at signs, stickers and pictures in a new light. It’s cool.

Anyway, I stumbled upon this blog post today – Project 365. Basically, it challenges you to take and publicly post a different picture for every day of the year. Up until recently, I wouldn’t even think of trying this – but I just got a phone with a decent camera, and I find myself taking at least a few pictures a day. So I’m going to give it a shot. Chances are, I won’t make it – but I’ve gotten a little more interested in photography in the last few days, and so I want to make an attempt.

If you know me, you know that a large portion of my shots will probably include graffiti or some art form. I’m not great with effects or panorama shots, but I’m going to try to make them interesting. I’ll be posting them here on Facebook and to a special Flickr set (and possibly straight to my art blog – since Flickr makes it easy). I’m starting today – I don’t want to wait a few months until January to begin.

If you’re into photography, art, or just want to take a mini journey throughout the next year, I challenge you to try this out. Personally, I think it’s easier if you can take pictures and/or upload from your phone occasionally – it will make it easier to keep up during hectic days. Don’t feel the need to upload every day – just remember to take at least one picture of something every day.

To kick things off, here’s my first picture. Sorry it’s a little blurry – it’s the only picture I had of this and I thought it was a really cool sign. Promise the rest of my pics won’t be this bad.
